SGD Now Classified as Inexpensive DME

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) classify SGDs and handle the Common Working File according to the Change Request, which relates to Section 1834(a)(2)(A) of the Social Security Act (the “Steve Gleason Enduring Voices Act of 2017”) – this directive considers the use of inexpensive or routinely purchased SGDs and accessories.
