Bypass Some Reason Codes For Acute Kidney Injury Claims

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) bypass reason codes 36233 and 36330 for some Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) claims according to CPT and ICD-10 submission and other factors. Contractors must reprocess AKI claims for dates of service on or after January 1, 2017 through September 30, 2017.
