Claims Processing For Oxygen and Oxygen Equipment

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) work according to instructions in the Medicare Claim Instruction Manual originally recorded in 1989, regarding processing claims for oxygen and oxygen equipment under the Medicare Part B benefit for durable medical equipment. Contractor shall pay or Return to Provider (RTP) certain claims based on the above instructions. Contractors shall use modifiers, make partial payments, and adjust incorrect claims accordingly.
