The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) join with other participants to work with the National Provider Identification Crosswalk System (NPICS) and assess how it delivers data to the Integrated Data Repository (IDR), according to CMS protocol.
