Controlling Improper Coding in Medicare Part B Claims

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests that Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) use edits for the National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Procedure-to-Procedure (PTP) in order to pursue the objective of promoting correct coding methodologies and controlling instances of improper coding that lead to problems and inappropriate payments in Medicare Part B claims.
