Testing Fraud Prevention System Edits
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) request that Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) participate in testing up to 7 Fraud Prevention System (FPS) edits according to resources provided by the National Fraud Prevention Program (NFPP). The NFPP has introduced the FPS tools in order to reduce waste, fraud and abuse through preventative measures to block fraudulent claims. Testing will last approximately four weeks. The CMS also request that contractors participate in a total of two post-testing feedback meetings, not to exceed one hour each.
