Implementing Phase One Of APS Criminal Screening

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) aid in the implementation of phase one of APS criminal screening, a CMS process that automates data checks and develops methods to proactively identify fraud, waste, and abuse. APS 8.9.0 will be released on May 15, 2017. Provider enrollment application processing staff should have access to the new release to evaluate enrollees.
