New County Code On Provider Specific Files

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requests that Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) use a new five-character field designation county code on Provider Specific Files (PSF). The county code will determine if the provider is eligible for the out migration adjustment. Contractors shall expand the Inpatient provider specific file (PSF) to accommodate the new county code field and future additions and apply PRICER updates.
