Changes To Electronic MSNs & Alternate Format MSNs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) request changes to electronic Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs), and alternate format MSNs as options for Medicare beneficiaries: first, a non-printable section on the first page of each MSN with the label HICN and the full current Medicare number or Railroad Board ID in unmasked form. CMS also requests a function to allow MSN reprint requests for one or more claims in audio, braille, CD-ROM, electronic format, large print, standard preference (hard copy print) or qualified reader, and in either English or Spanish, and production of all MSNs in print media format for deceased Medicare beneficiaries.
